Eric does nothing by half-measures. He still loves chocolate and video games every bit as much as he did when he was a kid. A true movie buff, he never tires of seeing his favourite films, especially those whose scores grab him by the heartstrings. In fact, Eric loves audio content in all its forms, particularly music and podcasts, which he consumes as voraciously as he produces. While he has a special love for piano and electro, he’s equally at home playing roughly a dozen other instruments to accompany his own melodies.

Eric has been composing soundtracks for 25 years. While studying film and music at college and university, he played keys for a slew of Montreal rock bands. This led him to start composing for artist albums, theatre productions, video games and films. In 2012, he co-founded Pixel Audio, a full-spectrum audio production studio. His work on Catherine’s debut feature Sisters: Dream & Variations, whose original score he composed with Tyr Jami and Justin Guzzwell, made him a winner at both the IndieFEST Film Awards and the Gala Québec Cinéma, where he took the IRIS for Best Original Documentary Score. For LARRY (they/them), Eric is collaborating anew, this time with Scout the Wise.

Eric is deeply concerned with issues of gender identity, which he sees as key to how we define ourselves as a society. For him, gender freedom is neither a passing fad nor a marginal issue that affects only a minority. Rather, the chance to freely express and experience gender is a fundamental human right that strengthens the social fabric.
